Educo Adventure School - a needs note

In my previous life-chapter, for 19 years I ran one of the largest summer childrens’ camps and outdoor ed facilities in BC.  I have seen countless young people and children discover new aspects of themselves and grow immeasurably in supported outdoor experiences.  In those years I discovered Educo.  Educo’s home base is near 100 Mile House, BC.  Two of our children participated in programs at Educo and their experiences then still inform their lives now, years later.  They are Educo program leaders.  Passionate, skilled, caring leaders.

Why is Educo unique?  Well, you will notice…

 - no power lines come in to their site
 - no running water.  A hand pump brings clean water to the surface
 - talented, qualified, trained staff who typically forgo higher paying jobs to
   work at Educo because they are committed investing in the life of your child
 - no corporate or parent organization subsidy  
 - staff / student ratio enables real relationships, not just supervision
 - I can go on and on and on and on…

Many of you have heard me extol the virtues of Educo over the years.  Now I’m asking you to consider helping Educo.  They’re in a crunch position and need increased camper enrollment and an increased donor base.  
You are invited to be part of a small group that will notice you, that needs you, will welcome you, thank you and enrich your own life experience.

Asking for help does not mean Educo is unsuccessful.  It means they run lean and focus all their resources on nurture, care, leadership and challenge.  They don’t build reserves.  They don’t waste money on layers of admin or unnecessary overhead.

I’m challenging you to help us as only you can.  Maureen and I are giving $100 per month.  Just sayin’.
